19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard surfaces
A comeback Medvedev won his maiden trophy for over two years with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the competition title decider.
The athlete, a ex- world number one, has experienced a difficult year, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.
His varied form on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in particular - caused him exiting of the top ten and ultimately splitting with long-time trainer Cervara.
Presently working with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has steadily improved in the recent weeks - culminating in a hard-fought three-set triumph over opponent Moutet.
It is his first title since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt since March of that year.
Success also means he has secured twenty-one victories at 21 distinct competitions.
"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to secure a title is particularly special," said ranked player Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my second daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, comprising in Halle in the past months.
Medvedev's defensive play style and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had led observers to wonder if his ability to play at the elite level was over.
However the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and play aggressively, supported by an enhanced service.
The champion fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, winning 4 of the last five exchanges to go ahead.
The competitors exchanged service breaks in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his first professional championship, seized the initiative to force a final set.
The opponent saved 4 early-game opportunities in a competitive final set before the champion broke to that score to secure the win.
Appropriately, he clinched victory with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to handle a return after a lengthy match.
